A bar stool dispute that began with a disagreement about pitching on the Toronto Blue Jays, escalated tragically, say police, ending in the death of a Calgary family man.
Police have released more details about the death of Brian Ludwig, 41, identified as the victim of an alcohol-fuelled incident early Sunday morning outside Swigs Pub and Grill, 11213 30th Street S.W.
Witnesses say Ludwig suffered a “sucker punch” to the back of the head when a fight broke out in the parking lot, sending the six-foot-three contractor to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
An autopsy determined the cause of death was blunt force trauma.
If I was insensitive I would say something like the Blue Jays pitching has been so bad it's killing me too but I won't.
