Woman forced to drop pants on New York subway after giant rat runs up her trouser leg

A hotel supervisor was forced to drop her pants in the middle of a full midtown subway car Friday — when a brazen rat darted up her trouser leg.

Ana Vargas, 40, said she was sitting in an A train heading downtown as it approached the Columbus Circle station about 7:50 a.m. when the rodent suddenly sprang.

“I thought it was my pants

moving,” Vargas told the Daily News. “It just crawled up my leg. I shook it and nothing came out.”

But then she realized she was being attacked.

“I said, ‘Oh, my God — it’s an animal on my leg!’ ” she recalled.

“He was very big. I was shaking, but nothing was coming out . . . I had to pull my pants down in front of everyone on the train.”

Vargas, who works as a supervisor at the Doubletree by Hilton hotel in midtown, said three men tried to shield her from flashing everyone on the train as she shook the furry culprit loose.

“I grabbed his head, because he was scratching me,” she said. “I didn’t want it to bite.”

The train came to a stop and Vargas dropped the rat as she ran for help on the platform.

“I was very nervous,” she said. “I was shivering, shaking — everything.”

Cops soon arrived and called a crew of EMTs to take Vargas to Roosevelt Hospital, where she was treated for scratches to her leg and thigh.

“It was burning me, but the doctors say it’s normal,” she said.

The rail-riding rat went missing after the sneaky skirmish.

And now Vargas has PTSD from the experience: “I’m still nervous about it. I had to take pills to get to sleep last night because of what happened." “I don’t know what I’m going to do to get to work, but I don’t want to get on the train.”

Don't count much help for the Maple Leafs from the Marlies

The Toronto Marlies finished second best record in the AHL Western Conference and advanced to the Calder Cup finals. You'll hear from the media and Leafs management about how important those playoff games were and how many of the Marlies will be competing for Leafs jobs in the fall.

Don't count on it.

Not sure how many of those reporters actually made it to a game. I watched many of those playoff games and although they are a strong AHL team, the Marlies have few NHL calibre players. If they did they would have been up helping the Leafs make the playoffs.

This is my list of the top 6 Marlies players:

1. Ben Scrivens
2. Matt Frattin
3. Jake Gardner
4. Mike Zigomanis
5. Nazem Kadri
6. Korbinian Holzer

Jake Gardner is already a Maple Leafs and got a ton of ice time in his rookie season. Matt Frattin made the Leafs out of training camp and played most of the season with the big club.

Ben Scrivens was brilliant during the regular season and playoffs. However Leafs management is committed to bringing in a veteran starter so the best that Scrivens can do is to compete with James Reimer for the back up job. Since Reimer is the incumbent either an injury or total collapse would be needed to dislodge him from the Leafs roster.

Nazem Kadri is clearly good enough to play in the NHL - he is more physical and smarter with the puck. With Ron Wilson gone, Kadri should make the team coming out of camp. As for Zigomanis, he has had a taste of the NHL and at age 28 I don't expect he will be given another opportunity. Holzer was the best Marlie defenseman and will be competing for a Leafs job in the fall. He may very well have a position to compete for if offseason trades deplete the Leafs blueline.

That's about it. Joe Colborne was pretty much invisible on the ice though he was playing hurt. Still he went about 2 months without scoring a goal. He's not even close to being ready. Jamie Blacker and Jerry D'Amigo looked good at times but also not ready.

Once you past by the best couple of players who are in fact already Maple Leafs, there isn't much there to help the big club. Which is also par for the course.

Two women, 4 bare breasts, 1 golf course

Illinois golfers were given a double bogey on Monday afternoon, as two blondes reportedly flashed them in broad daylight on the golf course.

Alicia Binford, 43, and Shelly Lewis, 45 were arrested and charged with public indecency.

Madison County sheriff's deputies responded to the Woodlands Golf Course at about 2 p.m. on a citizen complaint call.

Binford and Lewis had allegedly exposed their "sexual organs," according to the complaint, though deputies deemed the "sexual organs" to be breasts.

There are reports that the exposure may have stemmed from a private group of golfers that host a naked -- and illegal -- golf tournament on the course once a year.

"The women were actually naked, straddling the hole as the guys putted on the green," according to a witness.

Shelly Lewis was also arrested for her indecent behaviour
